OopsPlayer Privacy Policy

Last Updated: February 18, 2026

1. Introduction Oopskate Studio ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy applies to your use of OopsPlayer on all supported Apple platforms, including iOS, and tvOS.

2. Data Collection and Permissions We design our applications to process your media locally or directly between your device and your chosen cloud providers. We minimize data collection to the absolute strictly necessary for app functionality.

2.1. Local Media & Files

  • iOS/iPadOS: We require access to your Photo Library or "Files" app strictly to display and play the video files you select. We do not upload, scan, or store your personal media content on our servers.

  • tvOS: We access the local storage sandbox to cache media for smooth playback.

2.2. Local Network Access OopsPlayer requires "Local Network" permission to discover and stream media from your local SMB, FTP, or WebDAV servers. This data remains within your local network and is not transmitted to us.

2.3. Cloud Services Integration OopsPlayer supports connecting to third-party cloud storage services.

  • Authentication: When you link a cloud account, authentication is performed directly with the provider (via OAuth or secure tokens).

  • Credentials: We do not view or store your account passwords. Access tokens are stored securely on your device using the Apple Keychain.

  • Streaming: Video data is streamed directly from the cloud provider to your device. We do not intercept or monitor this traffic.

2.4. Analytics and Crash Reports To improve app stability, we may collect anonymous crash logs and non-identifiable usage data (e.g., "app launch successful," "crash on video decode"). This helps us fix bugs and optimize performance for specific device models.

3. Data Usage We use the limited information we collect solely for:

  • Enabling media playback and file management features.

  • Authenticating with the cloud services you explicitly choose to link.

  • Identifying and fixing software crashes.

4. Third-Party Data Sharing

  • No Sale of Data: We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal identification information to others.

  • Service Providers: Data transfer occurs strictly between your device and the third-party cloud services you have connected. These interactions are governed by the privacy policies of those respective providers.

5. Data Security We implement industry-standard security measures. All communication with cloud services is encrypted via HTTPS. Sensitive credentials (tokens) are encrypted at rest using the device's hardware-backed Keychain.

6. Children’s Privacy OopsPlayer is a general audience application. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.

7. Changes to This Policy We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
